MUSIC IN FILM A brief history of soundtrack
30's DECADE
At the beginning of sonorous cinema, the most representative composers are Max Steiner (“King Kong”, “Gone with the wind”) and Erich Wolfgang Korngold (“The prince and the pauper” or “The adventures of Robin Hood”.
There is an importance of the music as sonorous background that accompanies the action and it's used as a leitmotif.
It's the Golden Age of musical cinema; the image is dependent of the musical numbers that transfer the spectetors to an irreal world.
Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers have the leading role in “Top Hat”, "Shall we dance".
"GONE WITH THE WIND", As God as my witness
GINGER AND FRED: "TOP HAT", Cheek to cheek
